What we mean by the term Community

Some of you have asked us about what we mean by the term Community. To clarify the doubts we've made the following drawing to explain what Community means in SocialBro.

Community
= friends + followers (excluding repeated users). This data usually generates doubt because the sum of followers and friends doesn't match. We hope to have clarified this question.

When is the best time to tweet?

People want to know when is the best time to tweet, when their followers are online, to interact with them in a better way. That's why we created the tool “Best time to tweet”!

On the SocialBro dashboard you will find the tool icon. “Best time to tweet” has many charts: when your followers are online, when you get more retweets or replies etc., generated by analyzing your top 100 followers, in this current free version.

The first thing to do is to request the report by clicking the tool icon. The report takes about two hours to be generated. After getting the e-mail we will send to you, you can run SocialBro and click the “Best Time to Tweet” icon again. We cache the report during one week.

Let’s see all charts:

When your followers are online?
Through this heat chart you can see the times of the week when you have more followers online. The larger red spheres show the time when you have more followers online. The black dots symbolize the best time to tweet in the next 24 hours and the best time of the week.

Online followers by hour
This chart shows an aggregate of all week about the hours that your followers are online.

Online followers by day of week
Through this chart you can see how many followers are online grouped by day of week.

Potential exposure by hour and by day of week
These charts show the sum of your Twitter community (followers of your followers) that potentially are listening to your tweets, by hour and by day of the week. The first one, by default, shows the average every day. However, if you want to see the data of a particular day, you just have to click a day at the bottom of the graph. To know the exact number of users just pass the mouse over each point.

When do you get more RTs and replies?
The chart indicates the hours and the days of the week where you get more RTs and replies for your tweets.

Replies & RTs by hour and by day of week
These charts show the sum of replies and RTs that you have by hour and by day of week. If you want to know the data about each hour you just have to click a day at the bottom of the graph.

Reach by hour and by day of week
The charts show the potential reach of your tweets, grouped by hours and by day of week. This potential is calculated by adding all the followers of accounts that have retweeted your tweets.

Tag Clouds
In the tool, you will also see different tag clouds that allow you to answer three questions about your Twitter community:

What are your followers talking about?
Are your followers sharing links about what?
What are your most resonant topics?

Don't forget that you can export to a PDF file all information the tool offers!

Releasing SocialBro in Spanish

After the last and important release we did in the end of July, we are happy to launch today a new version of SocialBro with some additions and improvements.

Spanish version

The main change is that now you can select another language than English, that is Spanish. Now SocialBro is available for Spanish-speaking too! You can change the language by clicking the new toolbar settings icon. Soon we will launch our app in other different languages, like the Portuguese.

New toolbar icon

Apart from change the language, in the new toolbar settings icon you can select the page size by number of users (10, 50 and 100), or let it automatically calculated, and select the view (grid, list and detailed).

Further you can select the functions: “synchronize at logon”, “play a sound after each synchronization” and also “disable the dashboard computing after the synchronization”. We recommend this last option for communities with more than 100K followers, to improve the tool's efficiency. In the toolbar settings you have the possibility to change your login password as well.

Sharing settings

You will also notice that now the settings are shared across different computers where a user has installed the tool. For example, if you add three Twitter accounts into the application you won’t need to add them again when using SocialBro in other computers. The tool recognizes the username and the settings. The same goes for the sources you have added to analyze: Twitter accounts, Twitter searches, Twitter lists or text file.

New scroll button and languages to filter

In SocialBro 0.2.5 you will realize that we have added a new scroll button to improve paging performance. To see the new scroll button you have to pass the mouse over the right and left extremities of the screen. The other news is that now Dutch and Indonesian users can make searches into its communities and on Twitter by filtering with these two languages, that we have added in this new version.

We don't get tired of saying that it’s a pleasure for us to develop and improve SocialBro with your help!

To install or upgrade SocialBro 0.2.5, go to http://www.socialbro.com and click on “Install”.
