How to open SocialBro for Chrome in a new window
It’s very easy to open SocialBro for Chrome out of your browser as a standalone application. You can create shortcuts in the desktop, the start menu and in the quick launch bar.
To do this, open SocialBro for Chrome in a new tab, then click on the wrench icon (“Customize and Control Google Chrome”) that is at the top right of your browser.

End of SocialBro private beta testing
We’re happy to announce today the end of the private beta period! We will still be in beta, but from today the new users don’t need to wait for approval to try SocialBro.
We have another piece of news: we’re releasing a new version of the Adobe Air app (0.2.8) in order to fix a bug in the layout views (list and detailed views) caused by the Adobe Air 3.0 version. This update also introduces a improvement in the speed pagination of SocialBro, which will be noticed especially in the huge Twitter accounts.
To update the Adobe Air version go to http://www.socialbro.com/download and click on “Download” in SocialBro for Desktop.

Introducing SocialBro as a Chrome App
We are thrilled to announce today SocialBro as a Chrome app, which will greatly improve the tool’s performance and flexibility. Many of you have asked us for a faster version of our app, so we’ve developed this version with all the features of the current desktop client. However, it is more stable and efficient, especially for the huge Twitter communities.
Users of Google's Chrome web browser can now visit the Google Web Store and download a Chrome-specific SocialBro app (see below “Getting started with SocialBro for Chrome”). Like the Adobe Air version, currently the Chrome app is also totally free.
We'd like to emphasize that SocialBro as a Chrome app is not a replacement for our existing desktop version. We have many people, companies and brands using the desktop version, who trust us, and we are naturally continuing support and development of that platform, just as we have done till now.
Today, we’re also launching a user guide about SocialBro to help you to find out all the features of our app.
Export and import the history for users of the Adobe Air version
SocialBro allows you to have in your Chrome app your entire history from the Adobe Air version (see below “How to export and import your history”). After updating the desktop version (0.2.7) and downloading the Chrome app, you will be able to export and import the data of your SocialBro account.
However, for the time being, the users of Windows XP aren’t able to import their history from the Air version, because of a bug in the latest Google Chrome versions. These users also are unable to add a txt file as a source in the Chrome version, because of this same bug. We have requested Google Chrome to provide a solution for this deficiency as soon as possible. So, we’ll keep you posted about it.
Getting started with SocialBro for Chrome
As we’ve said before, if you want to preserve your history of the SocialBro Adobe Air version, the first thing to do is update the app by clicking on Download in SocialBro for Desktop to download the 0.2.7 version.

Then, by clicking on Download in SocialBro for Chrome, you will be redirected to the Chrome Web Store, where you have to click on “Add to Chrome”. You can then run SocialBro whenever you like, by opening a new tab in Chrome and clicking on the SocialBro icon there.
When we release a new version, the app will update automatically when you restart Chrome, so you'll never get left behind.
How to export and import your account history
After updating the Abode Air version and downloading SocialBro for Chrome, you have to click on the Settings icon in the top navigation bar, in the desktop version.

Choose the Account tab and click on Export History to export it to a file in your computer. Then, in the Chrome app, click on the Settings icon again, and click on Import History, after selecting the exported file.

Through this process, you will have all the data of your SocialBro account available in the Chrome app!
We hope you enjoy SocialBro for Chrome as we do!! Let us know your doubts, comments and ideas! It’s always a pleasure for our team to have your feedback :-)
